In this video we break down the 3 categories of glass protection we offer that can be tailored to meet virtually any threat level and budget. Designed to prevent an armed assailant from getting into a building, Riot Glass is 5 times stronger and 100 times stiffer than normal laminated security glass. Available in varying thicknesses and strengths, both in single and double pane configurations. Riot Glass is custom made to fit into your existing frames, eliminating the need and costly expense of replacing framing. The process requires minimal down time and is a cleaner, simpler installation than a complete window replacement where drywall, stucco and wood repairs are often required.
Transcript: 3 Ways To Stop Shooters
Everyone wants to know the best way to protect their facility from an armed intruder. A lot of the systems that I'm going to go over with you today also work very well against burglary, armed robbery or other types of forced entry attacks, smash and grab for example, but today we're going to focus this on keeping an active shooter out, because if it's going to work against an armed intruder, who was very determined to get into the building, it will work usually quite well for burglars. So let's start with the three types of window and glass door systems that you should consider or at least understand before choosing either a vendor to work with to protect your building, as well as the products that you want to be able to have access to to thoroughly protect the facility within budget. So the first product is security window film. at Riot glass, we offer two systems, an indoor only and an indoor outdoor option. These double layer systems are more robust than the single layer, obviously you're protecting both sides of the glass, it reduces the smaller the amount of glass that will fall off of the outside, which then weakens the system. If possible, it's always a good idea to add a double layer film system. Secondly, it's very important to attach whether we go with an interior applied film only, or an interior exterior, the interior layer should be attached. And by attach I mean we apply a doubt 995 Or a three M IPA are impact protection adhesive to the entire perimeter of the window that acts as a bonding agent that attaches very firmly to the film as well as the frame. And when the glass is broken. The window film stays in the frame better because it's attached to the frame rather than getting dislodged easily at the edges, especially with tempered glass window films are used mostly in areas that have less vulnerability than the main entrances. We don't necessarily recommend window film on the highest threat level parts of the building. Generally, especially if you have a perimeter fence around your facility. This is going to direct traffic if you will, into the main entrance of the building, you're going to have more fortified security measures and those areas and the same goes for your glass protection. Those main entrance points are highly vulnerable and we should go with a more robust protection on those areas. The second product in the right glass lineup is our RG series or very robust laminated glass. This is a special type of laminate that we've developed that is five times stronger and 100 times stiffer than a regular window laminate. So just because a window is laminated doesn't mean it's going to withstand multiple heavy strikes with with heavy tools. The RG series is almost a mix between a very robust thick window film and a thin layer of polycarbonate. We call it our thermoplastic inner layer and it is bonded in between two pieces of glass usually a kneeled or heat strengthened. All of that combined together makes what we call a plate. So multiple layers make up a plate and then multiple plates make up a pane and you may have multiple panes. In the case of an iGPU or an insulated glass unit. For example, you'll have an air gap and then two panes on either side, creating the overall complex glazing system. And this is pretty much tailored to whatever we feel the threat level indicates is necessary. We can build these units and either single pane or dual pane with low II properties low iron glass tinted glass just about any configuration that you would order in a regular window, we can make that an array glass RG series layup. The third product line is our armor class series that comes in both access denial containment grade systems, as well as our bulletproof or ballistic grade ul 752 rated panels. There are multiple ways to install these, we will help you in the consultative process, understand which type of product you would want to use in which areas based on your budget, your anticipated threat level and many other factors. We always determine these based on very site specific walks and consultations with you to determine what your needs are. And to make sure that we dial in the project specific year facility we have a patented framing system that we developed specifically for armor glass panels that enable us to retrofit them into your existing window frames behind the glass or in front of the glass. It depends on if it's access to now containment grade or ballistic whether we install it on the outside or on the inside. For many doors where we don't want to replace the doors closers and hinges because of the weight and the expense, we can install our AP 25 flag Ship access denial panels right on the outside of your door, which goes over your existing glass. It's lightweight, it's extremely durable. It's been thoroughly tested, we have the testing third party laboratory testing, and this pretty much is a no go for a bad guy trying to get a new building. I'll link other videos that I've made including security glass basics, which is a very popular video where I talk about the difference between a kneeled and tempered glass, I would strongly recommend that you check out that video to get a good base level understanding before you meet with us to determine whether or not you want a containment access denial or a ballistic grid system. So those are the three product types security window film, RG series, laminated glass, its comes in single pane or dual pane units of any configuration and our armor class access denial and or bullet proof systems with our patented framing, I would encourage you to reach out to us directly all of our contact information is in the link below. We do free consultations and we highly recommend that you just get on the phone and give us a call. That's the easiest way to make a clear determination on what would be best for the various areas of your facility. Our mission is to help protect facilities because we know this is going to save lives.
