If you’ve decided that ArmorPlast is the right security upgrade for your windows and doors, the first step is to schedule a threat assessment. During the threat assessment, an ArmorPlast security consultant will conduct an on-site evaluation to inspect your property, analyze any existing security measures you have in place, and identify the most vulnerable points. The consultant will then make recommendations about ArmorPlast products and any other security solutions to consider for your specific case.
During their assessment, the ArmorPlast security specialist will talk to you to discuss your unique concerns and answer any questions you have about ArmorPlast. An on-site threat assessment is absolutely necessary when deciding which ArmorPlast level is right for your security needs. Even if you have an idea of where you need to install it and what protection levels would be good for you, a consultant will be able to notice and point out things that you might not have considered.
ArmorPlast polycarbonate and acrylic panels currently come in seven levels. These levels have a protection rating from containment-grade to various ballistic-grades. This allows you to choose the absolute best option to commercial facility, or business, as well as find something that fits your budget. Let’s take a look at what exactly those seven different levels mean.
This is a non-ballistic, containment-grade shield consisting of a single-layer 1/4-inch thick AR-2 sheet. ArmorPlast 25 does allow bullet penetration, but will not lose its strength or shatter, even after being riddled by multiple bullets. It remains a barrier to entry and prevents would-be intruders from dislodging the existing glass or reaching through it. This level of protection is ideal for preventing retail smash-and-grab theft, burglary, and looting due to civil unrest.
The next level up of containment-grade shield, ArmorPlast 375, is a two-ply laminate sheet composed of two 3/16-inch AR-1 sheets with an interlayer bond. It has a total thickness of 3/8 of an inch. ArmorPlast 375 provides an ideal level of protection against forced entry for schools, religious facilities, high-end retail stores, corporate C-suite entrances, and storefront door systems.
